HI there! My name is Jim Daneker. in addition to my work as a composer and producer in Nashville, I’m the creator of BackStage Pass. I’m also still the dreamer and kid-at-heart in this picture, fascinated by space. To this day, there’s still something about that time in the late 70s/early 80s that captured my imagination - and the sound of synthesizers was a huge part of that. That fascination continues to this day, and I think you can hear it in my music, and in projects like BaskStage Pass.

BSP is very personal for me; it grew out of my touring keyboard rig, along with the sounds I developed over my 27 year career as a producer and Musical Director/keyboardist for CCM artist Michael W. Smith. “Smitty” is a household name and easily one of the most well-known keyboard players in his genre, so it was quite an honor to be his “go-to guy” and travel the world together.

For years, keyboard players around the world have asked if I would consider selling my sounds. I never had the time to put something together, nor was there an ideal platform. However, seeing other major tours using MainStage exclusively in 2018, I felt like the time was right to finally pursue the idea of a top-notch virtual keys rig based on all my custom sounds. In September 2019, BackStage Pass was born.

BSP started expanding in 2020 with the Blair Masters Signature Grand, along with development of a major new product line: The Legacy Series. Starting with DX Dreams in February 2021, this series has continued to grow and evolve, and now includes a whole line of iconic vintage synths, both digital and analog.
